So often skincare product ads are overblown, descriptors are not always to be believed. I ordered this QMS product because it is a serum with ingredients I like. I prefer glycerin-based serums as this one seemed to be. But sometimes they can be sticky and take a long time to absorb, if they ever do. Formulas vary.I set this product aside for a few days after it arrived because I had been satisfied enough with an older product I was running out of, but wasn’t keen to try a potentially sticky new product. I was not expecting anything special in this QMS serum even though it was pricey. I don’t believe that price necessarily indicates quality. When I finally used it for the first time I was, and still am, absolutely delighted. It stands out among the many products I have tried over time. It is already one of my all-time favorites.This product makes my skin feel like silk. It forms a fine barrier on which I can apply tinted sunscreen and make-up that will last for a full eight-hour (and longer) day without the make-up disintegrating or caking. It leaves a slight sheen to my skin without make-up. It holds moisture near my skin, so hydrates. Though glycerin and related ingredients are prominent, the formula seems just about perfect to me. There is no stickiness at all. It glides on, but not like a silicon-based product. It has a scent, but it is not a fragrance and it is not obnoxious or strong. I have been dubious regarding the term “firming" that is now so common in advertising for skincare. It has translated for me to an uncomfortable sense of pulling on dry skin, a sensation that makes me want to slather moisturizer all over my face. However, with this serum I actually can see a tiny bit of short-term tightening of my facial skin after I apply it. Fine lines are blurred. Perhaps fine lines are simply filled in for eight hours…whatever, there is an appearance of more firmness, though I doubt that this is a long-term result of use. This blurring of fine lines without dryness is just one benefit of this lovely serum which I like very much. The biggest drawback is that at $125 for a tiny bit over an ounce, the price is likely a prohibitive splurge for many to spend on a skincare product. If you can afford it, however, I highly recommend it.
